I zero out my money at the end of each day. If you have $12 you take the $2 out and still have $10. If you have $27 you take the $7 out and still have $20 If you have $48 you take the $8 out and still have $40. Everything you take out you take to the bank for your savings account. I've done this for years and boy oh boy does it really add up by the end of the year.
One thing that I do that I think is a really great tip is when our family goes for a dental appointment we are always given a goodie bag at the end. It typically has a new toothbrush❤ toothpaste❤ sometimes mouthwash❤ and dental floss. If it's time to replace our toothbrush we will go ahead and use that one but my husband and son both use electric toothbrushes so I collect all of those goodies in a basket and when we go on vacation that is what we take with us and that way we are able to leave at home the ones we use every day and take these vacation size ones😊
Best way to save money on gasoline is carpooling with a co-worker/friend from work when going to work & shopping with a friend who lives nearby. My dad was carpooling for quite a few years with relatives & friends to work back in 1990’s. They’d take turns for a few days. Work was over @ distance of an hour away.
I cut up my face washers, towels and rags and use as handkerchiefs. I save a surprising amount of money every month on not having to buy tissues anymore.
I also set my grocery budget for each pay cycle, and any leftover money is transferred to my mortgage account at the end of the pay cycle.
I'm planting for the future, no plans to move. Im 43. Now growing peach, plum. Apple, pears, mulberry, blueberry, grapes and maple. In retirement i should have a lovely little orchard and maple syrup. Also planting medicinal shrubs.
I did a give away contest on my autograph website I've been a member over twenty years on the Internet I had over twenty members pick a playing card picked ten cards of winners of a as autographed book.
I keep finding hospitals and medical locations screwing up in their billing departments. Quest laboratories is a big screw up. I tell them to always bill me because often they want me to pay a copay when my copay is actually zero. Best to hold out paying. Even when the bill turns out to be correct, they often offer a discounted amount.
Back in the day, I was really into paper couponing and double couponing. Family and friends saved extra coupons for me. I used the savings(easily found on the receipt)from my outings to make extra principal payments on our mortage. Chipped that 15 year mortgage down to payoff in five years!
I make my meatloaf using a box of stove top stuffing for the filler. Then I chop up and add a bunch of veggies to stretch it as well such as onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, etc.
When you read "hang out in the fire pit", hanging clothes out is what I thought too.😂 Then I realized the writer meant sitting out at the fire pit instead of watching TV or other things that require $.

I have a very practical grandson who when he was only about 12 said one day” I decide what I want to spend my money on, save all I can and then when I have the money I change my mind and start saving for something bigger” He is out of college, debt free, has a nice apartment and a new car he is working hard to pay for. So proud of him. He has made frugal friends who enjoy camping, hiking, playing board games, ect. My other daughter’s almost 15 and her friend like to shop, just to look. They live in a large city and are trying to find every Goidwill in the city and decide which is best. Mom drives so of course mom pays for gas. LOL. You would love it. She judges restaurants by their salads. One day when we were visiting when she was about 2 we thought we would take her for fast food as her mom didn’t go out often. She got a big smile, can we have spinach and cabbage? Thanks for the entertainment while I am awake early and snuggling with my blankie so I don’t have to turn heat up yet. I definitely live in snow country! It is probably 40 outside.

Side dish or burritos, whatnot? I buy cream of wheat too and oats 😂😂😂my family member doesn't like those neither. I have to unplug a phone inside my home. Energy vampire. I need to turn off the wifi modem at least while we sleep. I'm wasting too much electricity too.

I'm 78 years old and retired. I keep my hair very short as it is thinning and was appalled when I cleaned that hair appliances cabinet out. I had so many dryers, curlers, curling irons for longer and thicker hairstyles I'd had since tbe 1990s!. I tossed or donated all but one hairdryer and 2 curling irons and baggie of bobby pins and plastic curlers.
Here’s a tip for Larry as he is the gasoline king. I recently saw a video where a man pumped exactly 1 gallon of gas into each of two large clear plastic bottles. He set the pump for the cost of 1 gallon each time. He pumped the gas into the first bottle on the high or fast setting and then pumped 1 gallon into the other bottle on the low or slow setting on the handle. Because the fast setting tends to foam, similar to when you pour a glass of soda quickly, he ended with significantly less gas in that bottle. The bottle he filled on the slow setting ended up with quite a bit more gas. It was pretty amazing. Also, you end up with more gasoline for the money if you pump in the evening when it’s cooler during the summer months because heat will expand the gas in the tank.
I've heard a little about plug and play or balcony solar systems. You instal them directly to your house not to power banks. It costs between $300 and $1000. It is very new to the US. Can Larry look into this? Apparently it is more popular in Europe.

Use the library to read the newspaper and movies for free. They have computers too.
