It’s totally fine to spend all that money on things as long as they provide value to your life. If and only if, you’re saving for your future and are only spending your budget excess on a good coffee and Netflix
The “money disappears the second you get paid” line really captures how a lot of us feel each month. It feels less like a personal failure and more like a system you can actually learn to defend against.
Rather than 3 month’s emergency fund, get 15k overdraft account with bank. You only pay interest, when you withdraw on rainy days. I have some rentals, so we have 40k in overdraft accounts with bank, for major maintenance like roof or painting etc.
I'm glad I didn't listen to people who told me it was stupid to buy a house and stupid to buy gold. If someone is giving you "cutting edge" advice that goes against the grain, chances are it's bad advice. Stick with the classics
Since that senile Biden came into office; everything we need/purchase is up 45 -65 % . We no longer : Stream Movies , Eat Diner Out, Subscribe to anything, Conrtibute to Church/ Charities. I now Cut my Lawn, Paint House Inside/Outside), Do Plumbing Repairs. Minor Carpentry Repairs. And Invest where/when I can. I should have done this yers ago.
