You didn't know where the animals were cus you weren't looking around regularly with your Focus… Every 20 to 30 Meters or so I will activate my Focus & do a quick 360, looking for anything interesting like rare animals, treasure or machines.
It helps to invert the Focus activation so that just tapping will activate it and also increasing the Camera panning speed to maximum.

I don't find myself using many other weapons besides the hunter bow, traps, or melee….I kinda kept the same play style as the first game and I know the developers put in a lot of work to expand the options we have too. Any advice besides go try em out lol?
I went back to finish the first one before I start forbidden West and hearing about the travel packs I'm worried that there isn't a permanent pack. Is there still a permanent fast travel pack that you can craft??
The best money maker in this game is actually hunting animals. Valuables give you very little money. But if you take like 30min just hunting random animals you will have thousands real fast. Especially early on you will see those hogs running around everywhere. Animals have different body parts and some body parts give you more money, like animal bones. So for animals, turn on your detective mode and tag the animals you see nearby and kill them. If you only take like 30min to just hunt animals you will have a lot of money to not worry for hours. Whenever I start to run out of money I got hunting to some decent spot where a lot of animals spawn and just go on a killing spree. Sell all the animal parts and I get thousands and I don't have to worry about money for a long while.
As much as I like this game, the skill system and the weapons and upgrades really frustrate me. I kind of always feel like maybe I don’t know what I’m doing.
Just finished my 5 hour trail and will deffo be buying the full game when I get paid. I've literally just finished another playthrough of Zero Dawn so all the changes were a bit jarring, I feel much more confident with it all now.

What is the best way to kill fish? I keep shooting at them in the water with arrows and they don’t die. I use more arrows to kill one fish than I use to kill a Thunderjaw.
