Youβre a new discovery for me. Iβm celebrating my 70th birthday this year, and live alone. Iβm recovering from treatment for breast cancer and working at recovering my health. Youβre an inspiration! Thank you. π
I haven't used my stove for years. I cook everything in a regular toaster oven. Mac n cheese. Meat loaf. Frozen pizza. One at a time but the toaster oven does everything I need. It's not a air fryer oven.
Towel racks: easy way to install: 1.Before you do ANYTHING, Get a stud finder. 2: Get a tape measure. Once you find the stud,3. Look at the box,or what they came in for the templet (if not) take the tape measure and mark an even distance from the predrilled holes with a permanent marker and 4: Use a slightly smaller drill bit to drill into the stud. This will insure the rack doesn't come loose over time. and then 5: install the rack using the screws that came with your towel racks. . Those are face plates,or receptacle covers. Very easy also to install. Main thing 1: YOUR HANDS ARE DRY! 2: put the face over the outlet and give 1 and a quarter turn to install.(Dont over tighten you can crack the face plate) The holes will naturally line up with the receptacle. Hope this helps you.
Some areas where riding a regular bike isn't necessarily safe, riding some type of motor bike might also be a good option. It will be less expensive than taking a car all the time. There may be times were you still want a car, but you can probably cut down about half the time you need to drive a car. (And you spend much less gas for a personal vehicle.)
I will be living on my own by August and Iβm dreading it. My only child(that isnβt a child heβs almost 36). Is leaving the nest because he has found the woman of his dreams. He wanted to move out after high school. But, I have been in a few toxic relationships and marriages and he was afraid of what they would do to me. Iβve finally decided that I am finally finished with relationships. So, he feels like he can leave and Iβll be ok. But, I was only 18 when he was born and i just turned 54. I always lived with my mom even with a few of my husbands and boyfriends. My parents are both deceased and Iβve never been alone because I had my son. He has always been my rock. I have depression and anxiety. And him moving out has really started my depression and anxiety problems working overtime. Do you think Iβm being an overreacting baby?? Iβd appreciate anyoneβs kind advice. Please no criticism. Thank you.
I found it difficult to get ingredients to make a meal for just one. So I batch cook for one. I cook a pound or pack of meat at once with minimal seasonings, divide it into single-serve portions, and freeze. Then later in the week or month, I pull out the meat and add seasoning, gravy, or sauce when I heated it up. This was also less expensive and wasted less food.
You know is never a bad idea to stock on Harina PAN. hahaha. I'm enjoying your channel so much. Thank you for your tips. I have downsized my appliances, for example I bought a Ninja foodie more than a year ago and I use it for everything instead of my oven or hobs and it have saved me hundreds on the electricity bill. Such helpful, thoughtful tips. Even though I'm currently partnered, life is never guaranteed and having that awareness keeps me frugal and creative around spending my money.
I've been thinking quite a lot about appliance downsizing. I love my Shabuki pot and I've just bought a small rice cooker. I have a countertop oven that's a good size for what I do. I'm dabbling with the idea of a Dash egg bite maker as it's actually quite versatile – it can be used as a small frying pan. I have a Dash mini waffle maker that I use for things other than waffles – I even cook myself an egg in it! The advantage of small appliances is that they can be put into a drawer or on a shelf when not actually in use. I'm not ready to make a total break with my stove.
I would like to downsize my stove and in fact get rid of it, but it's an expectation of buyers that there be a stove or, at the very least, room for a stove.
I love to meal plan saves so much money. I sometimes cook double and then freeze it and think about how to make several meals using one main ingredient.
Someone may have already pointed this out, but a fuller explanation of Thanksgiving for those from other countries might be helpful. Itβs not just about feasting. The main reason is to be thankful for all the good in oneβs life. I donβt have family nearby to share a Thanksgiving meal with. So instead, I spend my time cherishing all the different ways good is present in my life. Inevitably I am often invited someplace to share the quintessential Thanksgiving meal. But if there is ever a time when that doesnβt come about, I plan on focusing on all that there is to be thankful for. Gratitude for all the good there is, even if itβs just for the beautiful sky, tends to bring more good into oneβs consciousness and seems to manifest itself in tangible ways. I donβt mean to imply that your explanation of Thanksgiving in any way discounted all other aspects of TG but the food. I just thought Iβd fill it out more. Thank you for your good tips.
I recently became βsingleβ, not by choice. At 64 this is the first time in my life Iβve lived alone and havenβt cooked in over 20 years. Cooking for 1 is difficult. Looking forward to tips.

I store my toaster oven and hot plates under the counter when not in use. Stoves gobble electricity even when not in use!

Do not loan money to anyone: includes family and friends. Seldom pay back.
