The one where every member of the family can prepare their special meal sounds very good to me. That could start a great tradition that creates bonds within the family. Too bad, it's only me and my husband in our household and he's a couch potato.
I always turn off the faucet at once if I am not actually using the water. Americans are so used to letting precious water run and I know that people from different cultures cringe when they see this. 😂I have a clean tub in the kitchen sink where I rinse my hand-washable items with running water. I use the same water for rinsing rugs or dirty dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. This way, I can switch my dishwasher to normal/gentle cycle which saves on electricity. It also limits the gunk that can get stuck in the insides of the appliance.
I use the same tub for soaking my produce in vinegar water. This same water I dump in my organic garden to water some herbs and stuff.
It makes me feel good that I have been doing your suggestions bc I grew up in a developing country. Otherwise, I don't know how else I could be more frugal. Thank you for helping people to conserve the environment and saving money.
Get a pantry app so you know exactly what you have so you don't buy anything extra than what you need and you can use up what you have. I make sure I use every single hair & beauty product I have before getting more.
Check your electric company and use your electricity when possible based on out of peak usage. For example my electricity is cheaper after 8pm, I set my alarm for 8:05pm so I can start the dishwasher & do a load of laundry, I also turn on my bedroom fan at that time because I like to sleep with it on. I have electric strips so I can shut everything off when I'm done with it before leaving for work.
Bake your bread, cakes and pies. Measure your detergent with a tablespoon measure. More detergent doesn't mean cleaner. No use of fabric softener on cotton fabrics; they can't go static. Save money and environment.
Call up Nancy Pelosi for some tips. Ask her how, on a measly salary of about $250,000 she has a net worth of over 100 million dollars. She must be counting coupons or something! 😉
Yes, living in the richest country in the world is not affordable for many Americans. How sad is that? Good thing the elected politicians who have sworn to serve their constituents are suffering as well. Ha! 😉
Clean dryer lint filter with each load. You can buy a dryer lint brush for around $10 (long metal flexible thing with brushes on it) . Use the lint brush once a month. Dryers are a primary cause of house fires.
so Warren Buffet is still frugal at age 92 … which means he's going to die with billions of dollars … what is the point of making that kind of money if you never enjoy it. If your only enjoyment in life is too make money, then you have no real life. His kids will enjoy his wealth though.
I recommend checking the clearance section in the grocery. They can have good stuff that is no longer being being sold. Also, bakeries sell day old stuff that is still good early in the morning.
I’m the past 4 months, I’ve made about $700 selling things on Poshmark, a couple hundred from FB marketplace, another $100 from Platos Closet and Once Upon A Child. It’s not a get rich quick scheme but it has definitely helped us make some money, clear out space and not have to manage so many items.
People who are REALLY frugal don't even drive. They walk, bike and occasionally use public transit.

Remember little children needs little portions. Do not overload their plate. Use a salad plate or smaller.

Farmer’s Markets are way more expensive than my local grocery store, even organic produce at grocery store is cheaper.
